Achievement Day Conducting Option- Levels
Achievement Day Conducting levels:
Prep:
- Only the beat, no music.
- Voice will lead in the count and then a beat will follow, with stronger beats at the beginning of each measure.
- Students should know patterns for 2, 3, 4, and 6.
Level 1, Beginner:
- Musical score provided for each piece.
- Students should know patterns for 2, 3, 4, and 6. 6 may be conducted in 2 or 3 if student prefers.
- Scores will be single piano line, or one vocal line with piano accompaniment. All scores will have easy to discern musical feel and/or known melodies.
- 30 seconds will be given to evaluate the score before the recording begins.
Level 2, Advanced level:
- Musical score provided for each piece.
- Students should know patterns for 2, 3, 4, and 6. 6 may be conducted in 2 or 3 if it works with the grouping of the notes in the song.
- Each clip is about 30-50 sec in length.
- Scores will include a variety of scores, including single piano line, instrumental ensembles, and a vocal ensembles plus accompaniment.
- Students may optionally include two handed conducting to show dynamics, intro of additional parts, or cut-offs.
- 30 seconds will be given to evaluate the score before the recording begins.
*Please note that the beginning level is the same as last year. The advanced level has had one song changed for this year, but all others are the same.
